The Association’s contractor, Chester River Landscaping, has crews onsite this morning and provided the following update:

“We are onsite focusing on clearing driveways, then hopefully we get a little sunshine and warmer temperatures and will start spreading the ice melt on driveways this afternoon. We are making good progress, but the ice is slowing us down as now it’s rock solid like an ice cube.”

Crews worked well into the evening yesterday and are continuing their efforts this morning, with priority given to clearing driveways to ensure emergency access. Once driveways are addressed, crews will move on to clearing residential leadwalks (sidewalk from driveway to the front door) and access to cluster mailboxes and other common areas.

The ice melt being used is pure magnesium chloride pellets, which are effective in temperatures down to -15 degrees. Ice melt will be applied to concrete surfaces at homes without an orange ribbon. If your front light post has an orange ribbon, ice melt will not be applied at your residence.

As a friendly reminder, if you do not need to travel, all residents in the community and beyond are being encouraged to stay in and off the roads, check on neighbors who may need assistance, and take extra care if you must go out.
