Greetings Symphony Village Residents:

This is just a reminder for Villagers to ensure that their trash and recycling carts/ bins/ cans are securely latched, to prevent debris from blowing around the neighborhood, into your neighbor's yards and common areas, especially with the upcoming windy spring season.

I. GARBAGE
1. Household garbage is collected on Wednesdays.
2. All garbage cans must be placed at the curb on Wednesday by 6 a.m. but no earlier than Tuesday.
3. All garbage placed at the curbside for collection must be in garbage bags in a trash can with the lid secured.
4. A maximum of 6 garbage cans will be picked up per billing unit. Garbage cans may be a 50-96 gallon capacity not to exceed 96 gallons.
II. RECYCLING
Recycling is collected on Wednesdays. Place items out by 6:00 a.m. Please separate from household garbage. Do not place recycled items in a bag. The Town has provided a 32-gallon recycle cart per household that will remain the property of the Town and is only to be used for recycling. Queen Anne’s County also provides recycling igloos on Banjo Lane behind the Health Department.
Items to recycle:
1. Glass jars and bottles. (rinsed)
2. Plastic jugs and bottles. (rinsed)
3. Aluminum and steel cans. (rinsed)
4. Corrugated cardboard and paperboard boxes – flatten and bundle. (no pizza or food boxes) Food products are no longer allowed as recycled.
5. Office paper, newspapers, phone books, papers, paperback books, magazines, catalogs, cards, mail.
Items that are not recyclable:
1. Plastic bags, plastic lids, or towels.
2. Ceramics, window glass, Pyrex, light bulbs, plates, drinking glasses, or vases.
3. Scrap metal or frozen food containers.
4. Hazardous or bio-hazardous waste.
5. Styrofoam.
