On behalf of the Symphony Village Community Emergency Response Team (SV CERT), Sheriff Hofmann will present elder scams in Queen Anne's County. Older adults are targeted every day by various scams: through the internet, emails, texts, social media, other messaging sites, regular mail, in person, and by telephone. Nearly every scam is designed to trick us into sending money or providing our personal information. With the senior population growing and seniors racking up more than $3B in losses annually, elder scams and fraud are a growing problem. Protect yourself, and learn how to avoid scams!
