Dear Symphony Village Residents,

The Board conferred once again today, Friday, March 20, 2020 regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus and Association operations. The Board, in consultation with the general manager, are monitoring the situation closely. The Board and Management are also consulting with the Association’s attorney and insurance provider.

At this time the Clubhouse will remain closed until further notice.

Symphony Village staff will continue to telecommute during normal working hours as applicable. If you have questions or concerns, please email gm@PROTECTED or receptionist@PROTECTED. Calls to the Clubhouse at 410-758-8500 will be routed to Symphony Village Staff by within normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). The General Manager and Executive Assistant to the General Manager continue to perform the essential functions required to facilitate the day to day operations of the Association remotely. Staff is readily available and reachable in all ways other than person to person contact. Staff continues to communicate with contractors on a daily basis, stays up to date on best practices as it relates to COVID-19, monitors emails, phone calls, process invoices, communicates with the Board, Committees and Residents, etc.

Please note that a full sanitation of the Clubhouse will be scheduled in the upcoming week(s). The sanitation will be in addition to the ongoing cleaning and sanitizing efforts by Symphony Village Maintenance Technician, Nicholas “Nick” Oliver. Nick is completing light administrative work, coordinating with essential contractors, monitoring and maintaining the Clubhouse, etc.

Every member of this board is concerned about the community and will not and does not make any of the decisions mentioned above lightly. These actions are being taken to help ensure the health and welfare of the residents and staff of this community. We pledge to keep residents informed of all relevant developments and how they affect association operations.

It is also incumbent upon residents to take this situation seriously and do their part to minimize the spread of this deadly disease. The association highly encourages you to review safety guidelines and look for updates from the CDC, the local health department and the World Health Organization.

Please consider establishing a “buddy” system to ensure vulnerable and hard-to-reach community members stay connected to COVID-19 related news and services.

In conjunction with everyday preventative actions, many experts also are urging people to practice “social distancing,” which is the idea of maintaining a roughly 6-foot distance between other people. It also means limiting nonessential travel, avoiding public transportation when possible, working from home, and skipping social gatherings.

If you get sick

Medical authorities are strongly urging all persons who exhibit symptoms to stay home and avoid public spaces unless you need medical care. You also should separate yourself from other people and pets in your home.

If you need to need to visit a doctor or get tested for COVID-19, develop a plan before you go:

  • Call ahead before visiting your doctor.
  • Wear a facemask if you are sick.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • Clean your hands often.
  • Avoid sharing household items, such as utensils, plates, glasses, and towels.
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces, such as counters, tables, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, phones, keyboards, and remotes.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Bob Nilsson

Board President
